But, as mentioned, in most cases training judo once a week is not enough to gain significant skills in the judo discipline.
Is judo twice a week enough?

When it comes to practicing judo, it’s all about repetition. As with any martial art, you need to practice regularly to become proficient. The more you practice, the better your technique will become and the stronger and more agile you will become.
So, ideally, you should practice judo more than twice a week, if possible.
But what about training judo twice a week? Is judo 2 times a week enough to get the most out of it?
For many of us, our work and family commitments mean that twice a week is all we can manage. If this is the case for you, it is still possible to make the most of it.
The difference in training progress between once a week and two or three times a week is massive.

How many times a week should I practice judo?
If your goal is to improve your technique and master more judo moves, then you should consider attending judo classes more often.
A good rule of thumb is to attend three or four classes per week. This way, you can work on perfecting new techniques and judo throws and progress your skills.
Judo once a week gets you exposure. Judo 2, 3, or 4 times a week gives you progress. This is a regularity that will teach you the resistance and reactions of an uke to develop.
Finally, it’s important to remember to pace yourself. If you are just starting out, then don’t be too hard on yourself. As you progress in judo training, you can add more classes to your schedule and increase the intensity.
